The Quick Fix

The Lord is not slow at keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.

We live in a space where people want things to happen quickly; weight loss, financial gain, success…

Things that last can’t be rushed yet we’re still out looking for that quick-fix?

Life-long transformation comes from learning to be who we are and living as a person no one else can duplicate. As we shift our focus to live life from our true identity and purpose we must also trust that this is a process of discovery that takes time.

The world’s time teaches us to be in a hurry; that everything “goes so fast”, but God’s time shows us more of a patient unveiling. As we seek out his timing on our lives we will see we are given so much more than we could ever ask or imagine!

How many times have you looked out into the nature that surrounds you and smiled in awe of its beauty? Why then, when we look into a mirror, do we not smile back at the beautiful creation staring back at us in that same awe? Haven’t both been given life by the same magnificent creator?

What is it you truly desire for your health and for your life that will give you that sense of awe? Have you attempted to find the quick-fix for that?

When we love God and all that he has created around us and in us, we will find what we’ve been looking for all along. The “quick-fix” we’ve been seeking is identity and purpose, not a smaller pants size, different color hair, more friends or a larger bank account.

Trust in God’s time and find your discipline in Him.

2 Peter 3:15 (NLT)
And remember, our Lord’s patience give people time to be saved.
