Team Recharge was created to help you learn to eat and move intuitively, honor God with your body and put faith first in your health and fitness to allow your body to function in the way it was originally designed.

Making the commitment to improve your health and fitness is fairly simple.  The struggle comes with staying committed.  Can you relate?  I start off super excited and eager for big results; but am quickly reminded of the hard work, time, and dedication it takes to accomplish the changes I am after – struggling to keep the momentum. 

Romans 12:2 encourages us not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by renewing our minds.  So, what if we give up control and surrender our health to God?

Putting our faith first, when setting nutrition and fitness goals, will require us to surrender and give up control.  This is like repentance wouldn’t you say?  To turn from sin and go a new way; not resorting back to previous sinful patterns. 

Our “perfect plan” will always be interrupted by social gatherings, family illnesses, vacations and birthdays; but our health does not have to suffer because of it and we do not have to put our goals on hold because of them either.  When we look to the Lord in times of adversity we will discover he is the Way to finding joy and freedom in our choices.  We need the strength from our creator to guide our journey.  We can’t do it alone.

Tips to Establish a Holistic Pattern of Eating 

After years of poor eating decisions, you’ve decided it is time to change up your diet. Good for you! Even better, you’ve decided to use a holistic nutritionist to get into even better shape. Before you visit this specialist, though, you need to change up your eating patterns to ensure you come to them in great shape. Poor eating patterns may complicate your eating and cause a variety of other issues. 

As a result, you should follow these simple dietary tweaks to ensure that you establish a pattern of holistic eating that will improve your overall health. Many of these ideas are great even if you don’t switch to a holistic lifestyle, but are particularly important if you do change your diet in this way. Make sure that you follow this advice to stay on top of your problematic eating as much as possible. 

Avoid Restaurants Whenever Possible 

One of the toughest elements for anybody going to a holistic nutritionist will be avoiding restaurants. Many people like going out to eat and getting dishes that they may not know how to cook. However, many of these restaurants utilize non-holistic techniques that can be a problem for your health. This fact is true especially if you try to go holistic at home and run into issues with your restaurant whenever you go out to eat.

For instance, restaurants often use microwaves to prepare many of their ingredients and dishes. This cooking option might not seem like a problem, but these cooking tools will ruin the holistic nature of your food and make it less healthy to eat. Even worse, many may use metal-based – particularly aluminum – cooking ware that can be problematic for your health if you’re trying to go a more holistic direction with your overall dietary choices.

The exception here would be to go to diners that use holistic concepts to improve their dishes. For example, restaurants that don’t use aluminum cookware – which would ruin your chance to go holistic – may be an excellent choice to visit. Other diners that focus heavily on raw or organic ingredients may also be a good choice. Find out if they do any microwaving, though, to avoid further complications with your new holistic and healthy lifestyle.

Pay Attention to Your Water Intake 

Too many people don’t drink enough water every day and end up suffering. For example, you may be dehydrated at a small level and consistently experience headaches and confusion. Even worse, you may not digest your food as easily because water helps to breakdown the items in your stomach. Or you may stick to the eight-glass water intake guideline and not drink enough. 

A good guideline here is to drink half your body weight in ounces every day to ensure that you get enough water. So if you weigh 150 pounds, you would drink 75 ounces of water daily. Always drink water with your meals – to help them go down smoother and to fill yourself up more quickly – and drink water between meals. However, make sure to stop your water intake two hours before bed. 

Another critical step is to use a high-quality reverse-osmosis water filter whenever possible to ensure your health. These filters will remove any heavy elements – as well as bacteria – that may affect the quality and safety of your water. These filters can fit either on your water faucet or directly on your water source to provide a safer and more efficient source of water for you and your family. Talk to your holistic nutritionist about this step to ensure you do it right.

Keep Hydrogenated Oils Out of Your Diet 

Every day, people like you cook with hydrogenated cooking oils to prepare their many meals. Unfortunately, these oils should not be considered the best or safest way to make your dishes. Though they are commonly used in restaurants – another reason you should these cooking zones – hydrogenated oils will complicate your holistic health and should be cut out if you plan on sticking to this new lifestyle. 

For example, hydrogenated oils typically contain high levels of unhealthy fats that may not be good for your health. These oils also contain other ingredients that may complicate your holistic care and which your holistic nutritionist will definitely want you to cut. Though you may not notice this issue for years, these oils could complicate your heart health in a multitude of ways. 

Instead of these foods, you should utilize items like coconut oil, ghee, and extra fat from meats to sauté your dishes. These ingredients are not only healthier but can be very healthy if you use them properly. For example, you can replace your corn, canola, and soy oils – all of which complicate your holistic health – to make your dishes healthier and less problematic for your health. 

And, just as importantly, you should talk to your holistic nutritionist to ensure that you’re cooking everything properly. For example, they may find that you still cook your foods using high heats, which may kill many of the nutrients. Get used to steaming as soon as you can to ensure that you prepare all of your foods – particularly the critical vegetables – to a level that is appropriate for your health.

Go Holistic With Help 

As you can see, holistic eating concepts are not always easy to implement. Some people may struggle not to make mistakes that impact the quality of their holistic diet. Even worse, many individuals may make mistakes that they think are holistic but which sabotage their overall diet in a variety of ways.

So if you’re interested in being a better you and want to get into the best shape of your life, seriously consider working with a holistic nutritionist as soon as possible. These experts understand a multitude of unique nutritional concepts and will work hard to ensure that you are happy and healthy for years to come.
